This is a REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) project. We aim to help protect 8.200 hectares of Amazon rainforest and so prevent the emission of 3 million tons of CO2 over 30 years.

The conservation area is located in Altamira, Pará, one of the regions most impacted by unsustainable land use in the Amazon, not to mention the pressure from deforestation along the Trans-Amazon Highway, which crosses the municipality.

The municipality of Apuí is located in an area of agricultural expansion in the Brazilian Amazon and is the target of constant fires and deforestation for extensive livestock and monoculture. Apuí is today full of open areas, in contrast to the surrounding forest. After trying, without success, to implement coffee cultivation on a large scale in the region, some producers abandoned their properties, which have been retaken by the forest.

The coffee plantations, however, continued to produce, demonstrating the viability of their cultivation in an agroforestry system. Based on this observation, Café Apuí has been redefining the use of these lands, supporting family farming and forest recovery with the planting of native species associated with coffee production.

The greatest achievement of the project is a transformation in the concept of productivity, with unconventional methods, allowing for 66% greater harvests and increasing the annual income of producers by up to 300%. In this way, the project enables a sustainable income alternative, so that farmers do not need to engage in predatory activities to ensure the livelihood of their families and see the forest as an ally, becoming its guardians.

Situated across multiple locations in São Paulo, the most populous state in Brazil, this project aims to restore 155 hectares of forests by planting 279,000 native trees from the Atlantic Forest biome. In doing so, the Novas Florestas (New Forests) project will contribute to the preservation of the most threatened biome in Brazil. It is home to incredible biodiversity, with over 23,000 plant species and 2,000 vertebrate species, many of them found only in this biome.

In addition, the restoration of this Atlantic Forest corridor is important for the climate cycle as well as the recovery of water reserves in the region, which is responsible for supplying water to millions of people and organizations.

Local communities will be involved in the process of collecting seeds for reforestation.

The region of influence of the Mantiqueira Mountain Range is an important area of the Atlantic Forest that spreads through the Brazilian southeastern region. It covers an area of 10 million hectares, which includes 284 cities. 

It has five main watersheds, some responsible for supplying over 20 million people in the two major metropolises of Brazil, and has various species of animals and endemic plants, some in danger of extinction. In its communities live, just like us, people that depend on the ecosystem services provided by the biome for survival and for their production.

 In order to reestablish ecosystem services it is necessary to give scale for the restoration of the biome. For this reason, Mantiqueira will be one of the program's first areas of focus.

**Objective:** Restoration of native forests with through natural regeneration, contributing towards the protection of watersheds that supply two of the largest cities in Brazil.

The conservation of the Atlantic Forest has a direct and daily impact on the lives of 70% of the Brazilian population who live in areas that are or were once part of its forest. The Mosaic of Protected Areas of the Extreme South of Bahia (MAPES), in which the project is located, is one of the five regions with the greatest biodiversity on the planet. 

Started in 2021, the project works in southern Bahia in close collaboration with landowners to establish ecological corridors between the Pau Brasil and Monte Pascoal national parks and other conservation areas. The objective is to restore 170 hectares by planting 283,390 native trees to form corridors between forest remnants. Doing so will allow species isolated by deforestation to move around and reproduce, helping to conserve and revitalize the biome and  its biodiversity during the process.

Erosion has removed several meters of soil around the Llanos de Apan Aquifer, a region vulnerable to inadequate management of natural resources in the Mexican state of Hidalgo. In the affected areas, vegetation growth is hampered and, without natural barriers to stop them, the waters end up inundating nearby villages. To address this situation, the project aims to retain more water in the vicinity, revitalizing the aquifer.

Restoration will be carried out holistically, using reforestation with native species (Maguei, Nopal, Zimbro, Carvalho and Pinho) as a catalyst to prevent erosion from escalating, reverse soil degradation, rehabilitate water bodies and provide environmental education, ensuring continuity of conservation efforts.

The initiative will work closely with the Ejidos community to directly restore an initial 100-hectare area. Another 3,000 hectares will be restored indirectly, through the Pastor Program - which aims to provide alternative sources of food for cattle. From these strategies, the aquifer will be nourished and restored, helping local communities to thrive.

Campeche Corridor aims to conserve and restore the Maya Jungle, the largest tropical forest in Central America. It is home to numerous endangered species and holds great historical and cultural significance for indigenous communities. To achieve this aim, the project will reconnect fragmented forest areas, thereby contributing to the preservation of its rich biodiversity.

In addition to protecting and regenerating over TBD hectares of forest, Campeche Corridor will create permanent and temporary job opportunities for the local community, fostering the green economy and sustainable development of the region.

Located between the states of Paraná, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, the Serra do Mar Ecological Corridor is the largest and best-preserved segment adjacent to the Atlantic Forest in Southeast Brazil. There is also the stretch between the Tinguá Biological Reserve and the Serra da Bocaina National Park, which presents the most critical rupture of this biome.

This is the area where the Instituto Terra de Preservação Ambiental (ITPA) operates, playing a key role in the establishment of the Tinguá-Bocaina Biodiversity Corridor (CBTB). With 195 thousand hectares, the complete area covers nine municipalities in Rio de Janeiro: Vassouras, Miguel Pereira, Paty do Alferes, Barra do Piraí, Piraí, Paracambi, Engenheiro Paulo de Frontin, Mendes and Rio Claro.

Today, this is the only home to several species, rich in biodiversity and home to the Guandu River basin, whose waters supply and generate energy for about 10 million people in the metropolitan region of the state of Rio de Janeiro. Although essential for the maintenance of life and environmental services, the area suffers from forest degradation, and its conservation and revitalization are urgent.

Pontal do Paranapanema is a region in southeast Brazil over eighteen thousand hectares large and encompassing 32 cities west of São Paulo. The region has historically experienced broad deforestation and forest fragmentation in the last fifty years. However, organizations such as the Instituto de Pesquisas Ecológicas (IPÊ) are working to help recover and conserve the diverse fauna and flora of the region.

Through its Corridors For Life program in Pontal do Paranapanema, IPÊ, is creating wildlife corridors throughout the region by restoring native forest ecosystems in degraded areas.
