Joining efforts to recover and protect the Amazon Rainforest
Dawn in the Amazon: Protecting Fauna and Flora in Altamira
This is a REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) project. We aim to help protect 8.200 hectares of Amazon rainforest and so prevent the emission of 3 million tons of CO2 over 30 years. The conservation area is located in Altamira, Pará, one of the regions most impacted by unsustainable land use in the Amazon, not to mention the pressure from deforestation along the Trans-Amazon Highway, which crosses the municipality.
